Super green porridge
I'll try not to gloat about my oats!

Porridge is one of our favourites to have as a warming winter breakfast and the added spirulina is a great way to boost your immunity at the beginning of the day. Although the temperature is getting a little warmer, we still feel this is a great wholesome recipe which is ideal to keep you healthy during this global pandemic.
The Recipe
Serves: 1
Prep time: 5mins
Cook time: 5-7mins
Ingredients
30g porridge oats
175ml oat milk
½ tsp spirulina powder
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tbsp honey
3 tbsp shredded coconut
Sliced fruit
Method
Heat the oat milk on medium heat and add the oats to the pan. Story occasionally until the oats have absorbed the milk, this should take between 5-7 minutes.
In a separate pan dry fry the shredded coconut on a low heat until it starts to turn golden brown and remove from the heat.
Once the oats have cooked, remove from the heat and stir in spirulina, cinnamon and honey.
Place the porridge in a bowl and top with the shredded coconut and sliced fruit, i like to use banana and kiwi.
Serve and enjoy!
Alternatives
*You can use maple syrup instead of honey to make this breakfast vegan.
*I personally like to use oat milk as it is my favourite alternative milk but you can substitute any milk of your choice, including regular dairy milk.
Notes
*The cooking time varies depending on how cooked you like your porridge, I personally like it a little more runny so I cook it for less time.
*These are just a selection of my personal favourite toppings with this porridge but feel free to add whatever you enjoy.
