Blueberry muffin protein smoothie

A berry delicious way to start the day!


This smoothie is packed with immunity boosting ingredients and rivals the delicious taste of the great blueberry muffin. The fresh fruit can easily be swapped out for frozen and the recipe is easily adaptable to what you have in your cupboard. We love this smoothie before a workout when you need an energy boost but don’t want to eat too much before exercising.







The Recipe


Serves: 1

Ingredients


1 banana

40g blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1 tbsp hemp seeds

5g vanilla pea protein

100ml coconut water

4 ice cubes


Method


  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender until form a smooth consistency. If the consistency is too thick then simply add more water and blend until there are no lumps remaining.

  2. Serve and enjoy!


Alternatives


*We use coconut water because it’s great for replenishing energy levels but if you don’t have access to any then you can use normal water or any plant-based milk.

*If you don’t have any vanilla protein powder, then we would recommend adding a drop of vanilla extract and a handful of pre-soaked cashew nuts for the flavour and protein boost.


Notes

*If you are using frozen blueberries then you will likely need more coconut water than suggested.
